By preventing spillage and airborne dust, Martin Engineering's Transfer Point Technologies will reduce equipment damage, reduce cleanup, control maintenance expenses, and improve the safety of personnel. But Martin Engineering is more than an equipment supplier. We have created and implemented a comprehensive approach to improving transfer pointperformance.
Air-Supported Conveyor Systems
System is suitable for new conveyor construction
or as an economical upgrade for existing
troughed idler conveyors.
Instead of using idlers, the MARTIN® S-CLASSTM Conveyor System supports the belt with a 1/32-inch (1-mm) cushion of air supplied by a low-horsepower centrifugal fan. This air-supported system reduces friction and stabilizes the belt path to prevent spillage and load segregation. The totally-enclosed MARTIN® S-CLASSTM Conveyor System acts as its own ductwork to prevent the escape of airborne dust.
- Cuts Power Consumption
Air from a low-power fan supports the belt with less friction and less power demand than idler conveyors.
- Controls Dust and Spillage
Fully-enclosed conveyor with stable belt path means no dust to collect, no spillage to clean up.
- New Construction or Retrofit
Modular sections make economical retrofit of CEMA-standard conveyors. Rugged plenum design saves money in new construction too.
- Light yet Sturdy
Lightweight to be installed easily, yet strong enough to handle heavy material.
MARTIN® INERTIAL FLOW Transfer Chute Technology
Reduce the escape of dust and improve conveyor
performance by confining the flow and minimizing impact,
turbulence, material degradation, and air entrainment.
MARTIN® Transfer Points are custom-engineered by Martin Engineering to eliminate blockages, reduce impact, centralize loading, and guarantee the material flow rate. Designed to minimize the generation and escape of airborne particles, they are especially suited for handling friable, dusty material such as PRB coal without requiring "baghouse" dust collection systems.
- Controls Dust without Baghouses Eliminates the need to install or expand "baghouse" dust collection systems.
- Improves Loading
MARTIN® INERTIAL FLOWTM Transfer Technology controls load placement, reduces impact to extend belt life and decrease spillage and dust generation
- Cuts Maintenance Costs
System keeps fine particles in main material stream without consuming power to drive dust collectors and requiring bag cleaning.
- Eliminates Plugged Chutes
Engineered flow pattern keeps material moving and allows conveyors to achieve design capacities

Belt Support Sealing»

BELT SUPPORT SEALING
For an effective transfer point it is essential that the belt line be stabilized: If the belt is allowed to sag or flex under the stress of the material load, dust and fines will escape. Belt support cradles stabilize the belt's path to improve sealing and tracking.

BELT TRACKING SYSTEMS
Belt wander can originate due to many causes, from defects in the conveyor structure, to idler misalignment, to off-center loading. Whatever the origin of the misalignment, belts that mistrack will suffer a number of problems, including material spillage and costly damage to belt edges and the steel conveyor structure.
MARTIN ® Belt Tracking Systems
To avoid misalignment damage to belt edges and preserve the life of expensive belting, install MARTIN ® Belt Tracking Systems. Proper belt tracking systems will:
- Preserve Belt Life
Continuous belt alignment reduces edge damage to extend service life.
- Reduce Maintenance Chores
Correct tracking removes the repetitive belt tracking from the maintenance project list.
- Improve Conveyor Productivity
Proper tracking improves load placement, reduces spillage, and boosts plant efficiency.
MARTIN® Belt Tracking Systems Selection Guide
MARTIN® TRACKER Systems are available in three models to match the requirements of each application. Select the appropriate unit based on belt thickness and conveyor speed.
