newsflash Best Practice Exchange Forum at Holcim Indonesia
On May 29, 2009, PT Suprabakti Mandiri was invited by Holcim Indonesia to participate in the “Best Practice Exchange Forum”. This is Holcim internal forum in exchanging best practices among the Holcim Cement plants in Indonesia. The May topics focus on operation and maintenance of conveyor system. There are also topics about safety, production control and general maintenance.
Holcim Indonesia operates cement plants in 2 locations, the Narogong plant (located in Citeureup 1.5 hour drive from Jakarta, total capacity around 4.6 mtpa) and Cilacap plant (located in Central Java, total capacity around 2.4 mtpa). The forum was attended by personnel from quarry, raw mill, kiln, finish mill, maintenance and operations from both plants
PT Suprabakti is the only outside contractor invited by Holcim to participate in the forum. PT Suprabakti sharing best practice in conveyor maintenance. The representative from PT Suprabakti, Mr. Benyamin Tulong, share his practical experience and knowledge in conveyor maintenance. Benyamin based in PT Suprabakti Inco site where he oversees the conveyor maintenance contract for PT Inco – a nickel producer.
PT Suprabakti Mandiri is one of the in-house maintenance contractors at Holcim Narogong plant, specialize in conveyor maintenance. Suprabakti also supply conveyor component to Holcim Indonesia such as conveyor belting, pulley, idlers, belt cleaner and skirting. Suprabakti has an on-site presence with 8 crew doing the daily maintenance works.
In order to give the audience an attractive presentation, we send the Martin Transfer Point display unit in the conference room. Martin Transfer Point Display unit has attracted Holcim people to learn more about proper conveyor transfer point design. During the break we have many people asking question about Martin products.
